Story back dated from June 2018.
Left work yesterday with the news that results came back from the injury that Atlanta United midfielder Darlington Nagbe suffered in the 2nd half of the game vs Portland Timbers at Mercedes Benz Stadium this past Sunday was a torn right adductor. Ouch!!! I was watching the game and he eventually got up but walked gingerly off the field.
To me, Nagbe is one of the unsung heros on the United. He doesn’t get the glory such as Josef Martinez, Miguel Almiron, or even Ezequiel Barco. Nagbe is a great set up player that helps place the ball in the correct spot and has great ball movement. This injury also hurts because Nagbe was selected to represent this year’s MLS All Star team. But injuries are just part of the game. Hopefully he can get the proper treatment and get back on the pitch soon.
