What a Beautiful Night for a Baseball Game

Story back dated from October 2018.
I’m a writer, I’m a baseball fan, and most importantly I am an Atlanta Braves fan. Wishing I could be at the game last night, but family responsibilities take a front seat. Thank goodness for the ability to watch games on my iPhone. After P Sean Newcomb was walked in the bottom of the 2nd, I just knew something good was about to happen. Something always happens after a pitcher is walked, good or bad, depending on who you are rooting for. On a 3-0 count LF Ronald Acuna, Jr steps back from the plate to take the pitch, which was clearly a ball, but the home plate umpire calls a strike. My take, best strike of the entire season for the Atlanta Braves so far. Because on the 3-1 pitch this happens:

Los Angeles eventually tie the ballgame up with homers of their own until 1B Freddie Freeman crushes a homer that would put the Braves up for good. RP Arodys Vizcaino pitches the bottom of the 9th and puts a scare into Braves Country. With 2 out runners on 2nd and 3rd, Vizcaino strikes out Dodgers 2B Brian Dozier for the save and Braves win. Braves live for another game as game 4 will be played today at 4:30pm est. I was not expecting the Braves to do much in this series, but I also hate the cliche ‘Just happy to be there.” No, the Braves are there for a reason. They won 90 games when all the baseball experts predicted 75 wins this year. Oh yea, the Braves also brought to Atlanta the NL East Division Pennant. My prediction was LA would win 3 games to 1 but anything can happen. If Braves win this series, you can thank three people for the moment the momentum swung in the Braves favor…home plate umpire for calling a strike when clearly was ball four, Acuna’s grand slam I believe sealed his bid for rookie of the year, and Freeman’s go ahead solo homerun which shows why he is clutch. Stranger things have happened but it looks like this Atlanta Braves team is not going away quietly.
