Acuna Jr wows at Home Run Derby in Cleveland

At the beginning of Monday night‘s Home Run Derby the prediction was the final round would come down between rookie sensation Blue Jays Vladimir Guerrero, Jr and All-Star and reigning rookie of the year Atlanta Braves Ronald Acuna, Jr. Well, half of the prediction game true as Guerrero, Jr faced off against New York Mets Pete Alonso who came away the winner and earning the $1 million payday, in which most proceeds will go to charity.

But lets focus our attention on Acuna, Jr in which this post in really about. After the first round Acuna, Jr put the baseball over the fence 25 times and was in second place behind Guerrero, Jr. On to round two where it came down to Acuna, Jr and Guerrero, Jr. Acuna, Jr came up one home run shy with 19 as Guerrero, Jr moved on to the final with 20 home runs in the second round.

Acuna, Jr finished up the night hitting 44 home runs, which actually made my evening. Acuna, Jr had a great showing and he drew a lot of good attention to himself and the Atlanta Braves organization. Braves firs baseman Freddie Freeman, pitcher Mike Soroka, and Braves manager Brian Snitker looked on during the contest.
