It’s just about that time of year where baseball is at its mid point of the season and football is just around the corner. The Atlanta Falcons Training Camp is opening up on Monday, July 22 and that practice and seven more after it will be open to the public free of charge. If you live in the Atlanta area it is an easy ride just up interstate 85/985 to Flowery Branch and then just follow the signs.
A few key factors that I will be paying attention too during training camp are the offensive line, health of RB Devonta Freeman, LB Deion Jones, and S Ricardo Allen. All three of these players had season ending injuring during the 2018 season, and the success of the 2019 season highly weighs on their shoulders. The offensive line is revamped from last year’s campaign as the Falcons drafted two offensive linemen in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft. With the 14th pick the Falcons drafted guard from Boston College Chris Lindstrom and guard Kaleb McGary number 31 from Washington Huskies. Both are poised for starting roles this season.
The Falcons play five preseason games this preseason, not four, due to the fact they are slated to play the Denver Broncos in the Hall of Fame preseason game in Canton, OH on Thursday, August 1. A special day at practice will take place on Sunday, August 4 when the Falcons will practice at Mercedes-Benz Stadium as they celebrate our brave men and women of the military on Military Appreciation Day.
