Grady Jarrett’s Deal Done

So it came down to the final hours for Atlanta Falcons DT Grady Jarrett to get his big payday. Jarrett’s rookie contract was up and he had already signed his franchise tag that would pay him the 2019 season of $15 million if he didn’t reach a deal by 4pm on yesterday. Well, by 2pm, Jarrett’s deal was done and worth a 4-year deal of $68 million dollars, where $42 million will be guaranteed. The good news is, and there is only good news from this deal is Jarrett will be signed and suited up next week with no distractions when the Falcons’ hit the practice field this upcoming Monday for the start of 2019 training camp.

Jarrett out of Clemson, was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round of the 2016 campaign and earned his way into the starting defensive lineup. Year 2016 was the year the Falcons earned a trip to Super Bowl 51 to represent the NFC. Nothing more is to be said about that Super Bowl.
