During this Covid-19 pandemic, all of the power five football conferences, as well as all conferences throughout college football, have been trying to figure out how to play the upcoming 2020 season. The Big-10, PAC-12, and ACC Conferences have all stated they will go all conference games for the season. But the ACC was open for one non-conference game in hopes that they will keep games that the conference teams play with the SEC, such games as Clemson vs South Carolina and Georgia and Georgia Tech. The last time Georgia and Georgia Tech didn’t play was back in 1924. Word came down just yesterday that the SEC will go all conference games, which took the ACC by surprise. So the rivalry games between the two conferences are just going to have to wait until 2021.
With the Georgia Bulldogs now playing conference only games, the non-conference games that Georgia will not be playing this year include: The season opening game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta versus the Virginia Cavaliers, Georgia Tech, East Tennessee State, and Louisiana-Monroe. Other than the Georgia Tech and Virginia games, the other two games not being played I could care less about.

Normal SEC play is an 8-game conference schedule, but the SEC has slated all teams will play 10 conference games. It’s unclear what the two added games will be for Georgia, but rumors that I have heard are games versus Arkansas and Mississippi State. These are only rumors, not confirmed.
The season was set to begin in Atlanta for the Bulldogs and Cavaliers on Saturday, September 7, but with the new schedule slated to be released soon, the Bulldogs first game will be Saturday, September, 26. The first conference game for Georgia was supposed to be a September 19 contest at the Alabama Crimson Tide. This game will still take place and might be the September 26 first contest for the Bulldogs.
Word also is that the SEC wants fans. Full capacity will probably not be the case, but if you will be going to any SEC games, just like the NFL has announced, face coverings will be required.
More updates to come as situations continue to change and be confirmed, hopefully better scenario situations.
