Los Angeles Dodgers are 2020 Champs

The Los Angeles Dodgers win the 2020 World Series over the Tampa Bay Rays four games to 2 games. The clinching game came in game six of the matchup as the Dodgers won 3-1. The last time the Dodgers won the title was back in 1988 over the Oakland Athletics.

In an unprecedented 2020 season where no fans were allowed in any ballpark throughout the majors, games were shortened from the normal 162, to 60, two spring training, and teams literally stayed in a bubble together at home and away ballparks, the Dodgers were the last team standing. It was said at the beginning of the season that whichever team dealt with the pandemic better would come out on top. It came down to four teams, the Braves, Dodgers, Astros, and Rays that dealt with this the best. Who out of the four teams had the best built team, the Dodgers, and it showed.

As the playoffs continued, 11,500 fans were allowed into each game of the Championship Series and World Series. Hats off to the Dodgers and all 29 other teams, Major League Baseball Organization, for pulling off a season that many thought would not be played. Next year is still up in the air on what the protocol will be for allowing fans back to the ballparks, but if the postseason had anything to do with it, the test was pasted.

Here’s to the offseason as the wait begins for 2021 Spring Training.
