Georgia Bulldogs Could Be a Force in 2021

If Georgia QB JT Daniels returns to Athens for the 2021 season, the Bulldogs could be a force to win another SEC East Title, SEC Championship, and possibly a National Championship. It has been refreshing to see a Georgia QB be able to push the ball down the field. Jake Fromm was a great QB for Georgia the last few years, but could never get the deep ball downfield on a consistent basis. He was a great manager of the game though, and that’s why the Dawgs won so much with him under center.

This year Georgia started the season with QB D’Wan Mathis (who has now put his name in transfer portal) and Stetson Bennet. Both are good QB’s, but neither were consistent and weren’t able to drive the ball downfield. Georgia sits at 7-2 with one more came remaining this upcoming Saturday between the edges versus Vanderbilt. I believe if Daniels was healthy enough to play earlier this year, the Bulldogs would be a top 4 team, undefeated or with one lost, and headed back to the SEC championship representing the east. Georgia might not have beat Alabama this year, but under Daniels they would have beat Florida.

Daniels numbers in three games so far with one remaining are 54 of 81 for 839 yards, 9 TDs with only one pick. He has a passer rating of 187.9. So put those numbers together next year as the full time starter and he could have 30+ touchdowns and under 10 INTs to go along with 3,000+ passing yards. He can spread the ball out which compliments the receivers who have been non existent under the other QBs. It’s a breath of fresh air for the receivers who are enjoying being able to be a part of the game plan again. Oh, and except for the Mississippi State game where the running game only had seven total yards from scrimmage, the running game has picked back up rushing for 332 yards against South Carolina and 316 yards versus Missouri.

If Georgia can keep this same pace next season opening the passing game with 300+ yards and 300+ rushing yards per game, not even sure if Alabama will be able to keep up with that pace. But again, it is a Nick Saban led Alabama team, and we all know what that means. Doesn’t matter who puts on the crimson red, as long as Saban is coach, they keep winning. But I believe Georgia can give them a run for their money and also outlast Florida next season as well. Good times for Georgia with no worries who’s going to lead the team under center.
