The season is nearly a month old, and though the 2021 Braves have not played up to the level of the 2020 Braves, the season is young with 26 games played and 136 games left. Last year, the team marked a record of 35-25 and one game away from the World Series with no fans. So far this season, the first home stand drew 33% capacity, second home stand drew 50% capacity, and the upcoming home stand on Friday, May 7 with a three game set beginning with the Philadelphia Phillies, Truist Park will be back to 100% capacity.
So what does this mean? Home games will not be sold out every game, but is does have the ability. All 41,000 seats will have tickets for sale. Since the State of Georgia is slowly opening back up, looking at this pandemic in the rearview mirror, so are stadiums across the state.
I am in favor of this because people need normalcy. If you don’t want to go to games, then you don’t have to. Baseball is back and I couldn’t be happier.
