Nascar not in my blood, but…

So I’m just now getting around to posting this…Attended my first Nascar race Sunday, March 20 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500. All I have to say is, “What a rush”!!!! I had never really enjoyed racing, was more into baseball and football…but realized now what I was missing. I have to say I do not know much about the drivers except for Chase Elliot and the Busch brothers, Kyle and Kurt…but I am learning.

So it all dates back to this year’s Daytona 500. Was watching the race, because, frankly, there was nothing else on and baseball was still in a lockout. I started getting into the race and I texted my brother if he wanted to go to the Atlanta race. He agreed and there it was.

Got to Atlanta Motor Speedway earlier for the 3:30pm race because we didn’t really know what to expect. Got in and out of the race perfect. This race track is really big, but compared to Daytona or Talladega, it’s smaller. Daytona and Talladega are considered super speedways. Atlanta is close but not there yet.

So we spent four hours watching 36 cars go round a racetrack and it was the most fun IO had since the Braves won the World Series last November. Not sure why it took me this long to like Nascar… but I’m sold now.

Brother and I are planning on going to the Atlanta race this upcoming July taking my daughter and his sons. Going to make this an annual event.
