Atlanta Falcons Different Uniform Combinations

The season is just a few days away and a lot has changed since the Falcons finished the Buccaneers off at Raymond James Stadium to end the season last year. One of the notable changes was to the uniform and helmet for this 2020 season.

Though my choice would have been an old school look with red helmets, but what do I know…I’m just a fan and do not make these decisions. According to the Falcons’ brass, these uniform concepts were the ideas of the players and have been in the works for the past couple years.

With the new uniforms came the change from red as the dominant color (2003 – 2019) back to black being the dominant color that was the trademark of the Jerry Glanville years of the 1990’s. With the new uniforms comes a new black matted helmet with the Falcon logo 30% bigger. The previous helmet was a shiny, slick black helmet. I have noticed some teams in the NFL going to a matted helmet. Also, some teams in MLB have gone to a matted helmet. Come on Braves, lets do this!!!

See below for the seven different combinations that the Falcons can use for their new uniforms. The main home uniform will be the all black and the main away uniforms will be the all white. What is your favorite combination, I have four? Throwback will always be my favorite followed by white jersey, black pants and white jersey, red pants for away games. For home games new black jersey and white pants. The Falcons have a uniform combination they call a gradient color where the red jersey fades into black that combines with the black pants. Word is when the league softens their stance on the one color helmet rule next year the Falcons will be introducing a red helmet for this combination.

To go along with the new “Back in Black” uniforms, I have tweeted to the Atlanta Falcons they should paint the end zones at Mercedes-Benz Stadium black, just like they did at Fulton County Stadium and The Georgia Dome (before they switched to red as dominant color). Here’s a picture and what I said as the team went throwback during last year’s home Thanksgiving Day game versus the Saints. And I retweeted it just yesterday.
